European Heritage Volunteers permanently aims to develop the concept of volunteering at heritage sites and to increase the quality of volunteering projects at heritage sites, among them the quality of World Heritage Volunteer projects.

The World Heritage Volunteers projects published under “Selected Projects in Europe” are combining a high heritage linked quality with a well developed volunteering respectively educational approach. Additionally, the published projects have not been realised as singular events in one season, but they are aiming towards sustainability or even have already achieved constancy as well as a qualitative development from year to year – some of them already became a well established tradition at the particular World Heritage site.

We understand these projects as best practise models for those which are planning volunteer projects at heritage sites and as a motivation both for them which want to start and for them which want to sustain heritage volunteer projects.

At the end of every year new high quality projects having taken place during the past season will be added.
